I had SO SO much fun with this game! A dear friend gifted it to me on Steam for my birthday and I just recently sat down with it to give it a go. If you are into organizational games, I highly recommend it and I also suggest giving the No Magic run a try! I really liked being able to put everything away myself by hand, and there’s even an achievement for it.
As you can see it took almost 60 hours, but it was absolutely worth it. Some of the book titles are absolutely laugh out loud hilarious (especially the romance novels, as you expect they got the 80s trashy bodice ripper vibes ON LOCK.)
first off, forgive any janky formatting, iām typing this on my phone in the hopes to you knowā¦.use this more. iāve been feeling the pull to go back to social media and micro blogging, but i have a fully functioning website i pay for right here under my own control! and in my dead heart of hearts, i really do not want to go back to social media. iām doing just fine with the ākeep accounts open for friends that use it to send me stuff in DMsā model. LOL
ANYWAY, in July i resubscribed to Gamefly (YES, itās still alive!) think Blockbuster, but online and no rental deadlines.
The first game in my queue that i received was Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. now as an aside, this game was in development hell for years and we thought weād never see it released. that was the first thing that made me āmehā about it. the second thing, and ultimately was gonna be the reason i would never spend money on it was they were going to put my vampire clan of choice (Toreador) behind a paid dlc. they would eventually backtrack this and then just make an additional story content dlc for a npc. $15 bones though, what the helly!!
thirdly, the story just was an outright FLOP. i had gotten the anarchy ending, but it didnāt feel like an anarchy.
i would have been way happier with Fabien, the Malkavian detective and doing old timey noir detective things!! (Fabienās big reveal also made me pause the game and call my partner about it because i was so damn gobsmacked LOL)
as the player character storyline, things just felt really disjointed and wasnāt really going anywhere. you felt like you were justā¦.there, with no real development.
all in all, glad i rented it and didnāt spend any money on it (unless you count my Gamefly subscription) maybe when itās stupid cheap during a Steam sale iāll let it rot in my library til i get a better PC.
About a year or so ago, my ex was supposed to buy my Nintendo Switch from me, though it never happened.
And then recently I hear about Nintendo remembering New Horizons exists after five years. I figured I would play as normal, despite my Switch having been wiped and pull down all my data from the cloud once I resumed my Nintendo Online subscription, much like Sony freezes Playstation Plus subscriptions.
Oh how WRONG I was. Come to find out, your data gets wiped after a grace period, and you’re shit outta luck.
So alas, I am starting from zero, but at least I have Amiibos of my favorite villagers (Lolly, Stitches, and Bizkit) and there’s no need for me to hunt for them.
After using a Roku TV for the longest time, I’ve “upgraded” to an Apple TV. Upgraded in quotes because this particular model hasn’t been updated since 2022. My biggest reason for upgrading was that when I would try to watch shows on HBO, the audio was SO low and I’ve tried so many fixes.
Eventually I decided enough was enough, and I had the added benefit of an Ethernet port.
In other news, I don’t think this is how bathtubs work….

So I totally fell off the face of the Earth there, as I do.
The ADHD be really real at times, or I just lose interest in the thing I’m chasing.
In the gaming sphere, I am still chasing FFXIV achievements and as of typing this, I am now #105 on my server. \o/
In the Bookish sphere,Ā I completed 74 books with a goal of 25.
For January, I already have four books on deck towards a goal of 26.

I’m especially excited for Quicksilver and have heard very good things! I’m 10% of the way in right now and I’m having a blast. I’m probably late for that train but better than never, right?
In other news, aside from posting screenshots to my FFXIV account and leaving alerts on for when friends share posts to me, I am stepping away from social media this year for my mental health. No matter how much you curate it, it is a still a flaming huge dumpster fire. My last post in Instagram was 2024, so I’m hoping to do the same with Threads and Bluesky. The people that matter have ways of contacting me outside of those platforms, so they can utilize them as they wish.

WHEW. I didn’t mean to go so long without updating, but the thing we call “Real Life” demanded my attention for a while. I assure you, gentle readers, that myself and mine are completely fine.
With that said, here’s what I’ve achieved while I was gone!

This week was another top-heavy one with a LOT of achievements, but we are now officially seeing the light at the end of the leveling tunnel with alt classes ticking over to 100 and giving progress to the next achievement mount. I also got the omni-90 hairpin, but I hate it so much that it immediately got tossed in the glamour armoire, never to see the light of day. LOL
I don’t know if I mentioned this last week (I probably did, I don’t read my old posts…oop.) but I’m HOPING to finish this leveling spree by next patch so I can focus on the next steps of the lv 100 relic weapons and tools. We’ll see how it goes.

There was a *buttload* of ‘cheevo popping this week so I condensed it into a smaller list. Monk and Black Mage are steadily marching towards 91! Getting closer!!
This week begins a Moogle Treasure Trove event also. I already have most of the items sans the exclusive event item (a coffee cup earring!!!) and a triple triad card. I’ll be passively gaining the currency for it and at the end I’ll turn them in for maps to use with my farming group!
