[#713] New Phone!

After 6 years, my beloved iPhone Mini 12 both ran out of space (yes, i’ve done a lot to take back space, 64GB still wasn’t enough.) and the battery was starting to give up the ghost.

I now have a very pretty iPhone 17 whose lavender hue actually matches my PC gaming controller, but i’ve taken to affectionately calling it Hythlophone, after one of my favorite Final Fantasy 14 NPCs, Hythlodaeus.

At first i was a bit apprehensive about the larger screen size because i got the tiny baby hands debuff, so the Mini line was PERFECT for me….and then Apple killed it. Luckily, i haven’t had much issue with typing with my thumb as normal.

The biggest plus, though? I ACTUALLY GET TO PLAY LOVE AND DEEPSPACE ON A MOBILE DEVICE AS INTENDED. fucking addicting dating sim gacha being 30+ GB….which outgrew my tablet, so I was playing it on my PC via emulator since the housing update came out.

Optimize your shit, devs. Sheeeeeeesh.

My only complaint is I find the Camera Control button absolutely bloody useless as i’m not a big picture taker.

the Action Button is neat, and a step up from the mute switch, though I wonder how long it takes before i bump it just right and unmute my phone when I don’t intend to. LOL

[#712] It’s really mind boggling

So it’s been a month since I quit social media and boy howdy am I greater for it.

I’m still staying informed on things, which is the reason behind my blog post title today. In which, it is so absolutely mind boggling how the political sides take a story and form their own narratives about it. Like, who do you really believe in this case?!

And each one often becomes more outrageous than the other. It’s especially tragic when people lose their lives because you can’t exactly say, “okay, now tell us what REALLY happened.” This is a great time for Ned from Pushing Daisies’s powers to actually exist.

Anyway, since it’s the end of the month, here’s the January reading wrap!

[#710] New Techy Thing!

After using a Roku TV for the longest time, I’ve “upgraded” to an Apple TV. Upgraded in quotes because this particular model hasn’t been updated since 2022. My biggest reason for upgrading was that when I would try to watch shows on HBO, the audio was SO low and I’ve tried so many fixes.

Eventually I decided enough was enough, and I had the added benefit of an Ethernet port.

In other news, I don’t think this is how bathtubs work….

Hahaha, I love silly game glitches.

The Seafarer’s Kiss by Julia Ember

I have a ridiculously long list. Since it’s not specifically Bookish OTP, I’ve decided to spare you from a endless blog post. I did however, mention some in the Valentine’s Day Book Tag.

I’m still working this out. I don’t really play favorites with authors.

The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings movies. I’m not even sorry. I loved them.

I have no “guilty” pleasures. All reading is good reading.

11. Do you consider yourself a fast reader?

Not really? I usually aim for 50-100 pages a day, but sometimes it can be less than 50. 100 is the maximum pages I will read a day, unless the book is something I absolutely cannot put down and that I must KEEP READING OR ELSE.
